Dear Friends and Long Time Patrons, |
The Splash Moraine Waterpark will not be open for the 2010 Summer season. The Moraine Parks and Recreation Division would like to thank you for your years of support. Though these are tough times, the Parks and Recreation Division is committed to providing the citizens of Moraine quality and affordable programming. We would like to invite you and your family to utilize the other Parks and Recreation facilities in the City of Moraine (see information listed below).
The Payne Recreation Center (PRC), located in Wax Park on Main Street, is open and thriving. We would like to encourage everyone to come to the PRC and become a member, where the rates are the most affordable in the Miami Valley! The PRC features a walking track, full court gymnasium, multiple adult and youth fitness opportunities, and a teen/youth area where your family can enjoy quality recreation time together. The PRC also features rooms that are available for rental, perfect for your next birthday party or event. Please consider this facility when planning your next family gathering.
The Gerhardt Civic Center (GCC), located in Ora Everetts Park on Kreitzer Road just off Dryden Road, is also open and growing its services to meet the needs of the community. The GCC houses both senior and youth programming, offering a FREE afterschool program for Moraine residents that is now grant funded; it gives area children exciting opportunities for personal growth and character development. The all new teen program recently kicked off at the GCC; this exciting new program focuses on giving teens positive reinforcement in their school studies and provides opportunities to explore their future with college visits and ACT/SAT testing help. Every Wednesday, the GCC is abuzz with the activities of the Moraine Senior Citizen’s Club, who meet in our facility weekly. The GCC features many rooms that are available to rent for your next party, including the all new Rock Climbing Wall and Party Room.
The City of Moraine features several picturesque parks available for rental. Wax Park, Ora Everetts Park, and Deer Meadow Lake (on Pinnacle Road) offer shelter houses with picnic tables to accommodate your family reunion or party. Shelter houses are available for rental from May 1 – September 30; Moraine residents and employees of Moraine businesses must sign a contract at the Gerhardt Civic Center to schedule their date, non-Moraine residents must sign a contract and pay a $40 fee to schedule their date. Moraine residents may begin reserving park shelters in January; non-Moraine residents may begin reserving in February. Please contact the GCC for more information.
For more information about any of our GREAT Parks and Recreation facilities, please feel free to call the Payne Recreation Center (937-535-1060) or the Gerhardt Civic Center (937-535-1095), or access all City of Moraine Parks and Recreation Division programming at www.moraineparkandrec.com. Check out the Moraine Parks and Recreation Division; we are here and ready to serve the community!
Sincerely,
The Staff of the Moraine Parks and Recreation Division
